FORS Set Up
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary scheme for fleet operators with a purpose to raise the level of quality within fleet operations.
To achieve an accreditation various standard must be achieved with reference to FORS guidelines. The scheme is split into four sections comprising of:
• Management
• Vehicles
• Drivers
• Operations
Systems and procedures must be in place for each area to achieve the appropriate accreditation.
Setting up the systems and ensuring the correct procedures are in place is time consuming and can be complicated.
Bespoke Transport Audits
If you have your own internal transport audit but would like to have it carried out by an independant auditor or have various locations that require your internal audit but cannot cover them, I have the necessary qualifications and experience to assist you in this task. I have written and developed several compliance audits and can also assist in developing your own audit.
Workshop Assessments
A workshop assessment can ensure your maintenance facilities are adequate to perform the relevant safety inspections, servicing and repairs for your fleet. The assessment would comprise of checking for the necessary equipment to carry out safety inspections in accordance with DVSA guidance, appropriate tools and equipment, relevant certification of tools and equipment, the necessary insurance cover and general layout and cleanliness of the facilities. Documentation would be checked to ensure it meets the required standards and is completed correctly.
This audit can be carried out on your own internal workshop facilities but could also be carried out on your maintenance provider, with their permission.
